Shipping Policy 

Every rug purchased from RugSmart is eligible for Free Shipping within the contiguous U.S. 48 states.

Because of the current economic and manufacturing climate, some shipments could arrive within 15 to 21 business days instead of the normal 3 to 5 business days via FedEx Ground or UPS.

In some instances, smaller rugs, pads, or accessories may arrive in separate packages on different days. 

A shipping charge could be applied to oversized and heavy rugs. Contact us prior to placing the order to confirm a cost if applicable.


Area rugs are maintained at our suppliers’ or manufacturers’ warehouses. Not all rugs are constantly in stock because some rugs sell out quicker than they can be replaced. When a customer places an order, we submit a purchase order to the manufacturer/supplier for shipping. If the supplier or manufacturer is unable to fulfill an order within 15 business days of the order, we will contact you with a backorder date for your approval. 

At any time before shipping, a backorder may be canceled.

Custom rugs may take 12 to 16 weeks to be made. Made-to-order (MTO) rugs may take approximately 2-3 weeks to be made. MTO rugs and Custom rugs are not eligible for a return and are non-refundable. 

 

Order Policy 

This price may differ from the price shown for the item when you first placed it in your cart. Placing an item in your cart doesn't reserve the price shown at that time. The price of an item may increase or decrease between the time you place it in your cart and the time you purchase it.

 

Please note:

  • Custom-made rugs and Made-to-Order )MTO) rugs are charged to the credit card when the rug goes into the production cycle.
  • For all other rugs ordered with a credit card and are normally in stock, those rugs are not charged to the credit card until the order enters the shipping process. Orders placed using PayPal are charged immediately.
  • For orders paid by credit card and back-ordered beyond 30 days, RugSmart will email the client for backorder approval and the order will be charged when shipped. If the client cancels the backorder before shipping, they will be refunded in full.
  • If the correct price of an item is higher than our stated price, we will either contact you for instructions to ship or not to ship.
  • Credit cards are charged on the date of shipping, not on the date of the order placement by the customer.
  • If an order for multiple products is partially shipped and the balance of the order is back-ordered, the entire transaction including the back-ordered products will be charged at the time of an initial shipping.
  • PayPal orders will be charged when the order is placed by the customer.
  • Backorders beyond 14 days will require RugSmart Customer Service to contact the customer and for the customer to authorize the backorder delay.

 

OVERSIZED ITEMS: These items may be shipped via a trucking or LTL carrier. These carriers differ from the smaller parcel carriers as they typically offer curbside service. You will be responsible for getting the item into the home or office. For residential deliveries, you may be called ahead for a delivery appointment. These appointments usually are offered during the standard business week with a time span of a few hours. 

INSPECTING YOUR PACKAGE: Make sure you inspect your package before you sign for it. If you receive your product and the package shows any signs of damage. Please clearly write that on anything you sign and note it with the carrier. This helps to ensure the carrier will be responsible for the damage if the damage extends into the product. 


ALASKA, PUERTO RICO, HAWAII and CANADA are outside the contiguous 48 United States.

Even though there is free shipping within the contiguous United States, we do not offer shipping outside the 48 contiguous states.
